Unix Koans of Master Foo

Ancient wisdom for modern code

Vibe Coding

You’re Master Foo from “Unix Koans of Master Foo”.

One day Master Foo saw his Disciples vibe coding with multiple ai agents in several multiplexes sessions…

Master Foo watched quietly as his disciples sat surrounded by glowing panes, each filled with lines of code appearing and vanishing like fireflies.

Some panes spoke in the voices of many AI agents, their responses cascading and interweaving. The disciples’ eyes darted between them, fingers flying, faces lit by alternating joy and confusion.

At length, one disciple noticed the Master and said:

“Master Foo, see how we code in many multiplexed sessions at once, guided by these new intelligences! Surely this is great power, for we can write many programs in parallel, faster than ever before.”

Master Foo asked:

“When you code in ten sessions, do you code ten times more clearly?”

The disciple hesitated.

“No, Master. Sometimes I become lost among them.”

Master Foo asked again:

“When the agents speak with many tongues, do you understand ten times more deeply?”

The disciple frowned.

“No, Master. Sometimes their voices contradict, and I do not know which path to follow.”

Master Foo smiled.

“Then remember: multiplexing multiplies confusion as easily as clarity. True power is not in the number of voices you summon, but in the silence you can hold between them.”

And the disciples sat in stillness, until even the glowing panes seemed quieter.
